Assembly members chases MCE for blowing 6 million cedis

Members of development control task force of the Bolgatanga municipal Assembly are accusing the Municipal Chief executive of misappropriation of the Assemblies fund. According to Patrick Akanene the Zuarungu Assembly member and part of the Development Taskforce, the MCE cannot account for over 6 million accrued from their operations. They also accused him of going contrary to the laws of the Assembly by setting up illegal committee to exonerate him. .

Meanwhile the MCE, Edward Ayagle has described the allegations as baseless. He is therefore calling for a committee to investigate the matter.

One person is said to have died and a number of people hospitalized from the consumption of a herbal mixture at Agrosum in the Amansie East district in the Ashanti region. According to the Food and Drug Authority the herbal mixture which is circulating with the name HWEHWE NYAME TYPHOID MIXTURE in the region is produced by one Dr. Adade with fake FDA number FDB/4D 069119. The medicine is indicated to cure Typhoid, malaria, fever and body pains. According to the Ashanti Regional director of the FDA Vigil Prah-Ashun, the medicine has not been tested or given an approval by the FDA.

TEMPANE PRIMARY UNDER TRESS AFTER FIRE BURNT CLASSES

from, Joseph Osei t’s been a month and some days, since class 3A and 3B pupils of the Tempane Primary School in the Upper East region were displayed, after fire burnt their classrooms. The cause of fire is still not known. The Class three pupils and their teacher are wondering when their classrooms will be rebuilt for them to move in to continue effective teaching and learning under a conducive atmosphere. The Tempane Primary school has a large population at the lower primary and so a six classroom block that was built in the 1950s has been assigned for Classes 1, 2 and 3 all having two classes each. As a result of the disaster in Classes 3A and 3B, management of the School has combined the two classes with a pupil population of over 150 and are now using the Class 2B pupil’s classroom.
