Rev Owusu Bempah Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah has thrown an open challenge to sensational fetish priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam to face him in a spiritual contest to see which of them was more powerful. He said that the competition should be held at the compound of his church, the Glorious Word Ministry International in Accra. Owusu-Bempah has given a full assurance that the outcome of the contest would be similar to what happened between Prophet Elijah and the 450 prophets of Baal in the bible. Each Ghanaian Owes GH¢1,361.79

The latest report of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana has revealed that the stock of Ghanas total public debt at the end of 2012 stood at GH¢33.5 billion, compared with a total public debt stock of GH¢9.6 billion at the end of 2008. This situation represents a 248% increase over the 2008 total public debt level bequeathed to the Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration by the John Agyekum Kufuor led New Patriotic Party administration. This implies that each Ghanaian, baby or adult, is now saddled with a debt of GH¢1,361.79, a debt accumulated as a result of the reckless management of the economy in the last four years by the government of the National Democratic Congress. Ironically, the level of Ghanas public debt is without the controversial $3 billion Chinese loan which is yet to hit the coffers of the Bank of Ghana from the China Development Bank. Three political parties and an independent presidential candidate who took part in the December 2012 elections have commended President John Dramani Mahama for his vision towards the development of the country as contained in his State of the Nation Address. Mr Kofi Akpaloo of the Independent People's Party (IPP), Dr Henry Lartey of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr Akwasi Addai (Odike) of the United Front Party and Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, the independent presidential candidate, said the President's State of the Nation Address presented to Parliament yesterday and which touched on all sectors of the economy would better the lot of Ghanaians if the issues were implemented. Thieves raid NPP Kwabre West office; pink sheets, documents stolen

On Wednesday night, thieves broke into New Patriotic Party (NPP) offices in the Kwabre West Constituency and made away with a number of items. The stolen items included 106 cell phones, photocopies of polling centre pink sheets used in the 2012 elections, two Samsung digital cameras, files containing copies of constituency collated results of the 2012 elections and other confidential files. NPP Constituency Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah told the Ghana News Agency that a report had been made to the Kodie Police, whose offices are just behind the party’s office. He said he received information on Thursday morning about the incident and rushed to the office to confirm the report. Odeneho Appiah said that even though he does not know motive behind the theft, he cannot rule out sabotage.
